General Summary

Performs a variety complex technical, engineering-related responsibilities and activities. Develops, analyzes and maintains tools that support and automate build processes. Writes installation scripts and maintains all build related tools. Ensures consistency of Software Builds. Creates/maintains build processes, coordinates builds for release to our customers and works with development to resolve build issues. Works with project teams to ensure scripts and builds are developed and delivered on time. Compiles and assembles software packages from source codes. Ensures tools are stored in source control. Provides support for software packaging issues. Provides technical expertise in the determination and development of approaches to solutions, surrounding build tools and installer script issues.

Department DPA (Data Protection Advisor)

Seek to manage service levels, reduce complexity, and eliminate manual efforts with EMC’s powerful data protection management software that automates monitoring, analysis, alerting, and reporting across backup, replication, and virtual environments

Responsibilities:

• Primary owner of build and release tools and processes
• Create and manage build scripts
• Improvise and optimize software builds
• Manage build dependencies
• Manage branching and labeling strategy
• Work with multiple project teams in the U.S., U.K., Russia, Israel, and India
• Help define best practices for source control, continuous integration, automated testing and release management
• Build tools for internal use to support software engineering best practices
• Prepares written reports and may make recommendations for procedural changes. May provide day to day team leadership and train less experienced engineers as required.
• Provides assessment and resolution to a wide range of problems.
• Contributes to projects and tasks both internally and externally.
• Regular contact with colleagues across functional area and some senior management. 
• Performs build processes and debugs code build related issues.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years’ experience with source control tools ClearCase and SVN
• 3+ years’ experience writing Unix shell scripts
• 3+ years release engineering experience
• Strong communication skills in English (verbal and written)
• Strong technical aptitude.
• Knowledge of Unix (Linux, Solaris, HP-UX, AIX), Windows 2008, VMWare vCenter, Internet Security
• Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, GreenHopper (Agile), FishEye (Code Tracker), Crucible (Peer Code Review), Crowd (single sign on server), Jenkins continuous integration.
