Headquartered in Newark, CA, the Morpho Detection Inc a unit of Safran Group is a leading provider of explosives and narcotics detection systems for use in aviation, transportation, governments, military, and other critical infrastructures including ports, borders, embassies and high-threat facilities. Responsible for providing technical and customer support for installed systems.


Role Summary/Purpose:

  • Responsible for providing technical and customer support for installed systems.
  • Will diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and debug complex electro/mechanical equipment, X-ray systems, computer systems and/or complex software.
  • Will follow standard procedures to isolate and fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software.
  • Report on design, reliability and maintenance problems or bugs to technical support.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Work on complex problems where analysis of data requires an evaluation of identifiable factors.
  • Exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criterion for obtaining results.
  • Work with customer technicians who may, in some cases, respond for first line maintenance items.
  • Assume responsibility for continued customer satisfaction, and coordinate all activities with the customer.
  • Report activities, maintain local spare parts inventory, recording travel expenses and time card, submit Field Service Reports (FSRs), Request for Engineering Action (REA), implement Field Service Bulletins (FSB), maintain customer log books, and use sound judgment when dealing with customers.
  • Other duties include maintaining excellent customer relations, professionally representing Morpho Detection, assisting with customer training.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Requires a degree in electronics or formal electronic vocational training.
  • Several years experience as a field service engineer in medical X-ray, CT, MRI or related equipment is desired.
  • Computer experience: operating systems (Windows, UNIX, Linux), networked components and PC hardware knowledge is required.
  • Must be able to work in extreme environments and lift heavy objects.
  • Good customer skills and the ability to work under pressure are required.
  • Must be self-starter, work well without supervision, and accept responsibility.
  • May requires both domestic and international travel.
  • Must have a valid driver license. Availability of personal car is desired.

Other:

  • Work on customer’s sites, primarily in Moscow airports.
  • 1-2 days/week office visits are required when not engaged in Customer service delivery duties.
