Requirements:

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

• Master of Science (MS) / Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electronics Engineering

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

• 4+ years of development experience in consumer TV product (especially, audio systems in TV sets [such as an ATV / DTV sound decoder and amplifier])

Required Skills

• Familiarity with TV signal generators and audio precision test equipment

• Understanding of and programming in C/C++ for audio DSP applications (obligatory)
  
• Matlab, SPICE simulation skills (optional)
  

Preferred Skills

• Basics of speaker acoustic systems

• Basics of embedded Linux OS system and driver software programming
  
• Familiarity with Cadence CAD tools (such as schematics and PCB layout)
  

Other Requiremnts

• Driving idea generation for new audio enhancement algorithms

• Ability to create clear documentation and to communicate design concept details
  

WORKSITE LOCATION

Responsibilities and Duties:

BASIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Basic Functions

• Application of the following TV audio functions:
  
  • Analog TV (ATV) sound decoder (for B/G/I/D/K/L/M/N systems) including FM/AM, Nicam, BTSC, EIAJ, and A2/A2K decoders
    
  • Digital TV (DTV) sound decoder (for ATSC, DVB, ISDB systems) including MPEG Audio, AC3, E-AC3, AAC, and HE-AAC decoders
    
  • Analog audio input and output circuit (for AV/Comp/PC inputs)
    
  • Digital audio input and output circuit and control (for HDMI, SPDIF)
    
  • Audio Amplifier circuit and control (class-D or full digital amplifiers, power less than 50W)
    

Essential Job Functions

• Leading development and application of overall audio systems for TV platforms

• Providing new concept of TV audio systems to the design and product planning group (such as the market-leading technology, alternative cost-effective solutions, etc.)
  
• Providing a technical support on performance, durability, and design cost
  
• Providing feasibility tests for new concept design
  
• Producing all relevant documentation (such as simulation data, performance data, etc.)
  
• Providing TV audio platform technology lessons for the team members
  

Others

• Conducting experiments on and surveys of new TV broadcast standards

• Providing technical reports and simulation reports for new audio devices
  
• Supporting field engineering tests in oversea areas
  
• Programming in and understanding of C/C++ driver software
