Role Description


GFFX business performs strategic redesign of its market leading platform for trading FX spot, forwards and options with external clients – autobahnFX II programme. In parallel, the business is investing into building a new re-invogarated product for Corporates client segment - autobahnTreasury. Yet in addition to this, there is a strategic initiative to integrate Client and Sales platforms together to raise Sales efficiency by brining them into the core of electronic trading process - abFX Action Blotter.
 
abFX II programme intends to reorganize server-side functionality into well-defined layers with clear documented interfaces, to allow to create GUI in multiple languages for different client groups, to widen geographical presence of abFX servers to minimize client latency and provide better pricing, and to decrease time-to-market while increasing product quality.
There are many workstreams within autobahnFX II initiative. It includes abFX II for Sales, abFX II Options, abFX II Real Money clients integration and others.

Autobahn Corporates is a new e-commerce product offering (to be built) focused at providing treasurers at corporates and finance institutions with an improvement to their daily workflow processes and an overall management of liquidity leading to increased FX execution and investments with Deutsche Bank. The product is a collaboration of GFFX and GTB businesses and the objective is to provide a single product covering the full range of Treasury activities.
 
GFFX business highly depends on IT and continue to increase investment into it, which promise a lot of interesting work for all of us. Technology-wise abFX, abTreasury and Action Blotter are distributed systems, each consisting of several backend services, client libraries and a frontend applications. The backend components are written in pure Java and based on technologies such as low latency messaging, distributed caching providing high availability to the platform. abFX client side is a rich client application which is being re-built on .NET technology stack leveraging Montage framework and the UX experts in Platform Services.
The successful candidate will be working in one of the projects in the Quality Assurance team in Moscow or St. Petersburg and be responsible for creating test approaches and scenarios with BAs, working on test automation, performing functional, regression, load and stress testing. 
 
QA activity is focused on auto testing with minor involvement into manual testing. There is also a possiblity to shift the role towards manual testing if this is a candidate's preference.
 
The candidate must be a QA engineer with proven track record of delivery of quality products to the business. Experience with the test automation and tools is desirable.
 
 
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with BAs and dev leads on building test cases
  • Perform functional, regression, load and stress testing
  • Plan and implement full set of test automation activities: create, maintain and execute automated tests.
  • Develop and extend in-house testing automation tools and test frameworks
  • Take initiative and lead to optimise a length of test cycle and therefore time to market for new functionality.
  • The role may be adapted to manual testing experts as well.
 
 

Experience / Requirements (Required):


  • Proven experience in testing & quality assurance - preferably in QA for real-time distributed systems in an investment bank, hedge fund or innovative technology firm
  • Automated test tool/frameworks development experience
  • Academic background from a top tier university
  • Good English is a plus
  • .NET development experience (for UI QA Automation) or Java development experience (for Server Side QA Automation)


Experience / Requirements (Preferred):


  • Experience in performance testing
  • Understanding high-throughput / low latency application metrics
  • Experience with HP Quality Center
  • Domain knowledge in FX area is a plus
