GlobalLogic is looking for System  Engineer (Storage team) experience for its Kyiv office.

 
 
Required skills:

  • 3+ years of experience in IT and/or production enterprise environments;
  • Expertise in Linux/Unix operating systems in addition to WebSphere, Tomcat, and Apache. Also including associated protocols and tools, such as TCP/IP, Samba, NFS, tcpdump, etс.;
  • Experience in enterprise level storage array and networks administration (IBM, EMC or Sun);
  • Experience a plus with Solaris, Java, Oracle, MySQL, VMWare, Vignette, CMS, Nagios, Gomez;
  • Standard educational requirements for Ukraine;
  • Experience in technical concepts coupled with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information in straightforward terms;
  • Experience with and a broad understanding of implementing and managing complex technical projects with the ability to solve technical problems;
  • Proactive,handson, and able to motivate others;
  • Ability to succeed and excel in a fastpaced, dynamic 24X7 environment;
  • Experience leading a project from start to finish and managing the activities of a project based team;
  • Ability to identify and implement standardized processes across the operating environment;
  • Experience with hardware and software troubleshooting, and issue resolution;
  • Ability to design and implement hardware and software solutions based on development team requirements.
 
 
Required training:

  • OS Linux advanced administration;
  • OS Solaris advanced administration;
  • Understanding and administration of SAN/NAS/DAS storages;
  • Veritas clustering technologies for Solaris;
  • VMware virtual infrastructure administration;
  • Introduction and overview of supported BskyB infrastructure and services Sky;
  • Implementation of Incident and change management IT processes.
 
 
Job Responsibilities:

  • Designing system solutions based on development team requests and needs;
  • Presenting the development team with recommendations regarding hardware and systems software;
  • Installing hardware and software, maintaining appropriate maintenance levels and tuning;
  • Maintaining large storage arrays, allocating LUNs, monitoring disk arrays performance, etc.;
  • Supporting enterprise backup system, configuring and monitoring performance;
  • Evaluating, recommending, installing and configuring hardware and software to meet development team requirements;
  • Installing and configuring tools for event monitoring, capacity planning, performance monitoring, etc. and making recommendations based on results;
  • Level 3 troubleshooting and resolution of application and system related problems;
  • Leading technical projects from start to finish while working within organizational change management and project management guidelines;
  • Performing system software upgrades including planning / scheduling, testing, coordination, and maintaining integrity of the operating system environment;
  • Performing backup administration, including backup and restore of data;
  • Responding to outages both during normal business hours and in an afterhours, oncall capacity;
  • Producing documentation for use in configuration, repair and troubleshooting of hardware, software and network operating systems;
  • Participating in capacity planning and disaster recovery exercises while producing supporting documentation.
