Mirantis Inc. company is looking for  Java/Python Software Engineer,who will be doing software development in the PaaS and IaaS areas. An ideal candidate will have a solid knowledge of Java or Python, willingness and readiness to learn missing language, desire to learn different PaaS tools and frameworks, passion to design highly scalable and fault tolerant distributed systems and solve challenging design and architecture problems. You will be challenged to deliver innovative and effective solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Investigate and customize Java/Python based applications and tools used in PaaS and IaaS world, create new solutions
• Learn and evaluate new technologies
• Create and maintain technical documentation (for the team, not for the customers)
• Work in tight collaboration with remote teams (Russia, Ukraine, US) (teleconferences and business trips)

Requirements:

• BS/MS in computer science or related
• Good knowledge of Java or Python and its ecosystem
• Good knowledge of networking (TCP/IP stack)
• Readiness and willingness to learn missing language
• Understanding a design of the fault tolerant and scalable distributed  systems
• Experience with Linux (at least at advanced user level)
• Written English

Would be a plus:

• Excellent knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
• Knowledge of PaaS and IaaS tools and solutions.
• Knowledge of MongoDB, Couch DB, Redis
• Knowledge of Java frameworks: Spring, Velocity
• Knowledge of  JEE Technologies
• Knowledge of Ruby
• Knowledge of Chef/Puppet
• Good communication skills and spoken English
• Experience in working using mature engineering process and usage of best practices adopted in the industry (documenting, code review, daily build, ...)
