The Voice Design Engineer (DE) is to provide the senior engineering functions to design and implement network and unified telephony solutions for overall Customers infrastructure. The role is based within the Life Cycle Management team within our client.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years related experience with a strong design portfolio. Project experience with the following:

• Cisco design skills (at least CCNP/CCDP level)
• Develop network designs from high-level architecture, to specific end-to-end component interconnectivity, configuration and design reviews.
• Interpretation of network diagrams and documentation.
• Knowledge of Transmission, WAN, LAN, Security, Wireless.
• Ability to write standard documents with global scope (Technical documentation and templates).
• Transmission (SDH, DWDM, Frame-relay, ATM) and wireless technologies (WIFI, WIMAX, Microwave).
• Cisco product portfolio and configuration of Cisco products.
• Convergence (VOIP, video conferencing, H.323, SIP, Instant Messaging)
•  IPT (Nortel, Cisco, Microsoft OCS, Microsoft Lync)
• Routing (BGP, OSPF, PIM, MPLS).
• Quality of Service
• Content switching
• Campus LAN
• Protocols (TCP, UDP, NETBIOS, NFS, SMTP, SQL, etc)
• Physical design (power, cooling, racks, cabling).Good team leadership experience with the ability to initiate and   maintain strong relationships with other sub-process peers and business users.

Responsibilities

• Design innovative and cost effective solutions that comply with global and infrastructure standards for Telecoms
• Ensure that the solution(s) put forward leverage Group Infrastructure (GI) platforms and services
• Specify hardware, configurations and services in detail
• Conduct operations training and assurance of support
• Prepare comprehensive and complete design documentation
• Provide technical consultancy and support to Telecom Implementation projects
• Prototype proposed solutions
• Work closely with the principal designers and help in defining new technical standards and solutions
