Now Teradata is looking for Field Engineer which is a part of Cusctomer Support organization.


Responsibilities:

You would join a team whose role it is to maintain and ensure highest availability of Teradata systems installed at major customers in industries such as telecommunications and banking. To achieve this you will:

  • Analyse complex technical problem situations in the Teradata environment
  • Take suitable measures to solve the system interruption, as necessary by engaging support of partners and/or regional/global Teradata remote support centres
  • Plan and implement complex upgrades of hardware and/or software
  • Plan and implement proactive maintenance measures
  • Manage spare part availability
  • Plan and coordinate the deployment of additional support resources as required for upgrade, installation or problem-solving activities
  • Ensure positive customer attitudes and satisfaction with delivered services
  • Create documentation on customer installations
  • Coordinate customer requirements

                

Job Requirements:                

  • Relevant technical education to technical high school or university level (for example, electrical/electronic engineering, informatics, telecommunications)
  • Experience with the installation and repair of servers
  • Ideally some experience with database systems
  • Comprehensive experience with Windows, experience with Unix/Linux is highly desirable
  • Teamplayer
  • Experience in analysing complex technical problems
  • Knowledge of back-up and restore processes
  • Good communication skills, especially with customers
  • Able to work independently, flexibly and to tight deadlines under pressure
  • Prepared to work occasional weekends, and to be available occasionally on stand-by in the case of urgent customer requirements
  • Good English language skills
  • Valid driving licence
