Job Description

EcQuant Inc. is looking for a talented and experienced Senior Server Software Engineer with a strong background in Python and related technologies to participate in the development of server side business logic who can work remotely as an independent contractor from our representative office in Kiev, Ukraine with our R&D team in New York. The successful candidate will also have experience in other development languages like C++, understand multi-threading, scalability, redundancy, and code optimization. Should be a team player, fast learner, and have an innovator spirit. Key responsibilities include design and development of the server logic including architecture and implementation, defining interfaces between modules, working with Product Management to translate market requirements into technical implementations, and integrating 3rd party technologies into the product.

Required experience and knowledge:

• 5+ years’ experience Python development and/or similar technologies.
• A Bachelor degree or higher in computer science or related field.
• Python / Twisted / Django.
• Hessian.
• Experience with Open Source SDK’s.
• Experience in a cross-platform software development environment (Linux, Windows).
• XML, Rest, Web services.
• A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Rapid Application Development/Agile Development Methodologies.
• Unit Testing.
• Database experience, preferably with MongoDB and MySQL.
• Object-oriented programming skills.
• Experience integrating 3rd party software.
• Excellent debugging skills.
• Written and spoken technical/business English.
• Analytical mind, desire to solve extra-complex problems.
• Ability to collaborate with others to develop new or enhanced features for the software system and its servers.
• Business travel may be required.
