Genesys is currently seeking an Operations Engineer to join its R&D SaaS Operations organization. 

You will report into the Infrastructure Engineering and Operations team and you will be exposed to the sophisticated system, database, networking and application infrastructure at the Core of the Genesys SaaS platform.

Being a member of the Network Operations Center team, you will have the opportunity to work on a very large and high throughput SaaS infrastructure and you will be able to develop strong expertise in one or more of the areas that are involved in the build-out of this global infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• 24x7 monitoring and testing of the Genesys SaaS service components, including applications and systems, private and public clouds, VoIP infrastructure, compute resources, load balancers, networking devices and links, and database systems.
• Monitor and maintain the availability and performance of Genesys SaaS platform.
• Run live diagnostic site traffic tools, monitoring system capacity, service configuration, and traffic routing.
• Escalate issues to the appropriate teams as needed to ensure the most efficient and expedient means to problem resolution.
• Make every attempt to adhere to Service Levels Objectives, lower MTTR and preserve the customer experience by following processes in problem resolution, escalation paths, escalation timelines and expediency in troubleshooting and resolving issues.
• Communicate effectively and describe problems succinctly with sufficient detail so that you can hand-off an ongoing problem to another team or peer for completion
• Contribute to developing tools to improve serviceability, and manageability of the Genesys SaaS infrastructure.
• Use ticketing, alerts, and email to document, track, inform and escalate issues to the appropriate parties.
• Some NOC positions may include on-call responsibilities depending on the schedule.
• Ability to work flexible shifts that sometimes include weekends and holidays.

Required Skills:

• 4+ years of Operations experience, with knowledge of Cloud infrastructure components, including networking protocols, and software stacks commonly used in SaaS environments.
• Broad knowledge of Linux application servers and web servers, networks and load balancers.
• Working experience as Linux/Unix system administration and/or network engineering skills
• Experience with Python, Bash, or other scripting languages, preferably writing automation
• Experience supporting clustered databases, large scale SNMP implementations and/or web hosting environments is desirable.
• Experience managing DNS, networking infrastructure and networking monitoring systems.
• Experience implementing, troubleshooting, and supporting Unix/Linux systems
• Experience with Networking, and with VoIP infrastructure.
• Working experience with database engines such as PostgreSQL, MS SQL, or Oracle.
• Troubleshooting skills that range from diagnosing hardware/software issues to large scale failures within a complex infrastructure.
• Experience in all stages of application deployment lifecycle from design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Experience in VoIP and SIP.
