iDEN Customer Support Engineer


Description:

  • Customer Support Engineer is a person in 3rd tier support team of the iDEN wireless mobile network. Such support level treats as a part of development team which is closely working with customer to resolve and root cause technical SW issues. The 3rd level support engineer works with code, scripts, logs, telecommunication protocols and different level architecture, design, interface documents. 3rd tier support team has floating weekends and 12/7 phone call responsibilities where both are depending on schedule.

 

Required education:

  • Master or specialist in SW/Systems Engineering

 

Required knowledge/skills:

  • Good technical English (read, write, speak);
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills; 
  • Advanced UNIX user skills;
  • Experience Unix shell; 
  • Understanding of SW testing principles; 
  • Fast learning and thinking;

 

Pluses:

  • Experience in customer support activities;
  • Understanding of SW development process;
  • Good C/C++;
  • Experience in Perl or other scripts;
  • GSM, CDMA, trunking systems awareness;
  • Network standards and protocols awareness;
  • UML or SDL basic knowledge;
  • Experience with version control systems, bug tracking tools, development frameworks;
  • Ability to work with big amount of code developed by others.
