Senior PHP developer with Java knowledge (relocation to NL)

Our customer is an exciting Start Up company, aiming to create a fundamentally smarter way of cash distribution between companies. Due to the nature and uniqueness of the platform we're developing, we believe our Client will have a major impact on the international financial services industry.

Client is financially backed by top executives and industry experts and has strategic partnerships with key players in accountancy, treasury, legal services, mathematical software and IT. Together, we're building on a launching consortium with multinationals, distribution and endorsement channels in order to fuel rapid adoption - starting in the Netherlands, but soon afterwards internationally.

About the projects:

Office is based in Amsterdam, are passionate about fundamentally changing the traditional banking industry. The main platform is based on PHP but the new product will be built on Java.

What we expected from the developer:

• To take responsibility for their work
• To develop to high standards
• Speak out when problems arise and they need help
• You will work closely with product management team to verify/challenge business requirements and build the robust platform. Also you will be the single point of contact for all implementation details on product design and implementation.

Requirements:

• At least 4+ years of PhP/MySQL programming experience in LAMP environment.
• At least 2+ years of extensive hands-on experience in Java server side technologies: Web Services, J2EE, and Spring.
• At least 4+ years of experience in programming/interfacing with MySQL or Oracle.
• Strong hands-on experience in architecting web-based platforms with focus on critical attributes: security, reliability and availability aspects.
• Experience with development methodologies: RUP, Agile, Waterfall, etc.
• Affinity with Linux
• Focus on product development delivery
• Willingness to travel
• Flexibility with working hours
• Good command of English

• Experience in Banking, Financial services domains
• Experience with programming in accounting software packages, especially SAP, Oracle, EXACT, etc.
• Experience with Accounting concepts, General Ledger, etc.
• Familiarity with mathematical analysis, algorithms, linear programming, and graph theory concepts is a big plus.
