Role Description

The GFFX Data Access team is responsible for a dozen of trade gates to a leading risk management platform processing 500 000+ new trades every day.

The capturing of a huge variety of the trade types is based on a distributed client/server architecture leveraging all Reuters, EBS, broker connectivity as well as JMS, FIX, dbGML and several other messaging protocols. The services expose its own API both via distributed installation package and Web services.

The team is a member of the GFFX Trade Processing group that includes 2 other DB internal dev teams and 3 external dev teams located in Moscow.  The group also includes a QA team, a group solution architect and a functional analyst.

The GFFX Data Access team is expected to be a key contributor to a number of top 100 IT deliverables including a solution for the FX clearing and the Trade Processing Re-engineering project.

 Duties and Responsibilities

In a cooperation with business, work on the analysis and automation of trade capturing, processing and distribution activities. The projects might require short travels to London.

• Analyze business requirements for trade processing
  
• Design and implement trade processing solutions
  
• Identify limitations of existent systems. Propose and develop enhancements
  
• Analyze the existing infrastructure and propose improvements
  

 The primary responsibility for this year is to work under the GFFX Trade Processing Re-engineering to deliver the strategic Trade Retrieval service for RMS clients.

Experience / Requirements (Required)

• Java - Must have at least 2 year development experience;
  
• Experience in client-server multi-threaded architectures;
  
• Knowledge of messaging is a plus;
  
• Experience in SQL (PL/SQL is a preference);
  
• Knowledge of one of version control systems like CVS, subversion, MS Visual Source Safe, Perforce, ClearCase;
  
• In-house project lifecycle knowledge;
  
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills;
  
• Motivated and delivery focused, proactive;
  
• Intermediate or higher English, good communication skills.
