• Currently we are looking for Java Developer to join our Scalepoint team.

About the project:

• Scalepoint Technologies is a Danish company which makes solutions for the insurance industry. Our clients are the insurance companies located in Europe, mostly in Scandinavia. They use our solutions to reduce costs of claims in auto, building and content insurance domains.
• Our main office is located in Copenhagen and we have about 50 people working there: business people, support and IT Operations. IT development is done in Kharkov, Ukraine (Ciklum) and partially in Manila, Philippines. We are extending our team in Ukraine to handle all IT development in the future.
• We have a strategy of bringing our products to the next level and we incrementally improve the products by frequent releases. We use Scrum as our development process, which enables us to stay on top of our customers' needs and incrementally deliver value.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and challenge requirements from product managers
• Design and develop software based on requirements
• Design and implement refactoring projects on current software architecture
• Review source code and coach junior software engineers
• Write documentation
• Host sprint demos

Qualifications:

• Extensive hands-on experience with software design and development
• Excellent Java Framework (and above) skills
• Excellent OOA/OOD skills
• Experience with more of following technologies: Tomcat, XML, XSL, Query, MS-SQL, Sencha/ExtJS, JSON
• Experience with rule engine technology is an advantage
• Ability to take lead of development team
• Relevant certifications will be an asset to us
• Experience with agile processes (Scrum)
