Grid Dynamics Product Development seeks brilliant engineers to help design and implement next generation of cloud management platform. We are building a product that allow enterprises to do things that just yesterday were thought to be impossible. eBay, PayPal, Microsoft and Cisco rely on us to deliver core pieces of their cloud strategy.

The Senior Software Engineer will:

• Be a senior member of the engineering organization;
• Report to the Engineering Team Leader;

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement technical solutions in the cloud management space;
• Produce high quality, tested and documented artifacts;
• Create, evaluate and select options for technology design;
• Work with engineering managers to estimate implementation effort and staffing;
• Coach and mentor junior engineers;
• Assist with technical sales support.

Requirements (mandatory):

• Five years of hands-on software development experience;
• Strong understanding of software design;
• Ability and willingness to write quality Java code;
• Experience with continuous integration and deployment;
• Ability to work with DVCS (Git, Mercurial, Bazaar-NG);
• Experience with NOSQL systems (MongoDB preferred);
• Experience in building reliable systems using open-source software;
• Strong understanding of operating systems (at least one Linux distribution);
• Ability to work on every level of the stack, from the application down to the metal.

Also,

• BA or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field;
• Exceptional problem solving skills and intellectual curiosity;
• Passion for innovation and creative problem solving;
• Ability to proactively identify engineering problems and coordinate resolution;
• Ability to supervise work of others and delegate tasks;
• Good interpersonal communication skills.

Requirements (Preferred):

• Experience with functional programming in Scala/Akka;
• Experience building web applications with Play;
• Experience with messaging brokers and frameworks;
• Background in web-scale systems or cloud computing.
