Responsibilities
- cooperation with both Russian and American developers, other QA people and an American PM
- cooperation with Anglophone Technical Support people (sometimes)
- knowlegde of classic software QA practices and processes, ability to practically implement them
- testing of both UI-level and system-level components in Windows Server environment with the presense of all major MS's server software
- deployment and maintenance of the hardware/software testing environment (primarily Windows Server+Hyper-V+MS's server software on Dell server hardware)
- test suite design for a component set based on the defined feature set
- working in "dedicated tester for the particular developer" mode for the duration of some feature set effort
- working in "large pre-release whole product testing" mode with a Russo/American team and American PM personnel
- working in "support issues resolution" mode in a tight-deadline process of Support->Dev->QA roles
- developing scripts for test suite automation (preferrable one of: VBScript, PowerShell, C#, Python)
- execution of the test suites/matrices, gathering results, cooperation with Development and PM about them
- participation in maintenance of the "best practices" Wiki
Requirements
- English skills: ability of fluent communication with Anglophones by text/electronic means
- product-oriented SD company background is a benefit
- Windows Server/MS's server software administration skills
- source control (SVN) and bug tracking (FogBugz or any similar system) skills
- Linux skills are a benefit
- Linux-originated scripting language skills (Python is preferrable) are a benefit
- VMWare ESX skills are a benefit
- being a team player, i.e. ability to get the assigned task done without requiring significant help from the other team members, thus disturbing them
- being proactive, i.e. noticing deficiencies anywhere in the team and raising them as issues without being asked. We have no problem with an objective discussion to improve any aspect of our venture.
- being self-guided, i.e. being able of making most decisions on the task yourself without relying on micro-management, based on the specified target
Conditions
