On behalf of RTX (www.rtx.dk) we are currently looking for Embedded Team Lead to join our Kiev team.
The team lead position is a developer position combined with a role as local leader of the RTX team (embedded and .NET activities). The anticipated work split for the near future is 80% on development tasks and 20% on leadership/management task. The team lead must have a background in embedded software and experience with hardware is a plus.
The team lead combines the mix of:
- Technical flair – strong desire to create solutions and solve hard problems
- Very strong sense of quality – thrives when working methodical
- Ability to analyse problems at the system level – just as comfortable at helicopter perspective as at low level detail level.
- Very strong personal skills – leads by who he/she is and by example. Can be firm when called for but is not a dictator.
In the role as developer the team lead will be working on technical tasks within embedded software that will involve:
- Analysis and Design (At architectural level if seniority and skills allow
- Implementation
- Verification
- Some travel activity can be expected
- Some assistance of technical sales could be required from time to time
In the role as team leader the responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Ensuring that the team is working as a team and that there a good and healthy professional culture and team spirit.
- Ensure that necessary facilities and resources are in place (in collaboration with DK)
- Periodically report to DK management on team performance and development
- Actively participate in hiring of resources
- Actively participate in resource development and coaching. Provide recommendations to DK management as input for performance reviews.
- Ensuring that work is performed with processes and with a working culture that ensures high quality developed on schedule.
- Working close together with DK out-sourcing manager.
Personal Skills:
- Easy-going, emphatic and outward by nature and also methodical and goal orientated. She/he must be able to develop a strong network of relations with the DK engineering team. The team leader will have a strong personality and will be the natural centre of the team.
- The team leader is a team player but can also work individually. The team leader takes pride in her/his work and has a strong sense of responsibility and ownership of tasks she/he is given. She/he sets highs standards of quality in hers/his own work and expects the same from others.
- She/he will through the demonstration of enthusiasm, energy, skills and quality set the level that the other team members strive for.
- The team lead is a software developer at heart that wants to keep working with code as well as developing leadership skills.
Technical Skills:
- The team lead must be an experienced software developer with 5+ years’ experience.
- Strong programming skills (C and C++); experience with embedded software; strong analytical skills; are all essential skills. The team lead has experience as a software architect or can demonstrate the qualifications that support that she/he can fill this role.
- The team lead must be able to on equal level collaborate with system architects at RTX DK. She/he must have good understanding of software technologies and knowledge of embedded software systems. Experience with communication systems (network, Internet, Telecom) is an advantage. Strong verbal and written skills in English are a must (at least upper intermediate). Some experience or understanding of .NET technology and C# programming is a plus but not mandatory.
- The successful candidate should meet the following requirements: Experience with embedded software and RTOS is a must Experience with embedded Linux is a must. Experience with telecom or networking products is a plus.
- Experience with protocol software and communication systems is a plus. Experience with or knowledge of electronics hardware is a plus. Experience with Microsoft .NET platform is a plus but not essential.
