PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

SAP Global Research is the global technology research unit of SAP with a network of 15 research centers on 5 continents comprised of multiple practice areas in Advanced Development and Applied Research. The group significantly contributes to SAP’s product portfolio by identifying and shaping emerging IT trends and generating breakthrough technologies through applied research, advanced development and various commercialization vehicles like the Global Business Incubator, Imagineering and the Co-Innovation Lab.

Reporting to the head of the practice “Digital Manufacturing/3rd Industrial Revolution” you will work within a growing team of software developers and business experts to develop software prototypes and customer pilots to leverage advances in digital manufacturing, including 3D CAD/PLM integration/visualization/collaboration technologies and generative/additive/rapid manufacturing processes like 3D printing. 

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

As software developer in the Digital Manufacturing/3rd Industrial Revolution practice, the following hypothesis will be a guiding principle for the deliverables from your area: New digitization technologies, like 3D printing, will reorganize manufacturing and supply chains from large scale to just-in-time distributed manifestation.

These are the themes that you and your team colleagues will focus on:

•       Impact of generative/additive manufacturing technologies on SAP’s product portfolio

•       Process integration and optimization in design, logistics, and asset management

•       Mass-customization of products

As a software developer, you are expected to:

•       Develop architectures, software prototypes and pilots based on customer requirements

•       Collaborate within your team and beyond including with international SAP colleagues, partners and customers

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES / WORK EXPERIENCE

•       Passion for software development

•       3+ years working experience in professional software development

•       Expert knowledge of object-oriented programming in Java, Microsoft .NET, and/or ABAP

•       Positive mindset, team player, humble, transparent, open to changes

•       Reliable and capable of working in complex environments and tough times

•       Excellent oral and written Russian language skills

•       Good oral and written English language skills

•       Ideally, expertise in one or more of these areas: manufacturing, PLM, EAM, 3D CAD, logistics

•       Ideally, knowledge of SAP products (especially SAP PLM, Visual Enterprise)
