Role Summary/Purpose

Essential Responsibilities

• Application of GE Transportation products Control Functions in the Region and Worldwide in concerned areas such as modernizations, new locomotives, reliability, productivity, etc.
• Ability to understand and validate of a transfer function between a physical hardware and software
• Communication with SW development team on possible improvements of Products in area of Control Functions
• Understanding and derivation of all Control Function requirements from concerned Subsystems.
• Assist design team in development of new products in areas of interaction with Control Function.
• Write instructions, Change Orders and other documentation for a successful project completion as required.
• Will utilize extensively the GE standard tools for documentation.
• Execution of test plans in respective controls area at customer/partner site
• Prepare and present information to the other engineering teams to review the Control System documentation using the design review process.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Master's degree in Engineering
• Minimum 3 years of experience with design and/or control development of complex industrial systems
• Ability to conceptualize, analyze, and down-select control algorithms on the basis of relative merit against design goals for industrial controls systems
• PC advanced user and technically proficient in Microsoft Office and modeling tools MatLab/Matrix-X
• Programming skills (in Fortran, C, C++ etc.) desired, experience with Windows and Unix platforms
• Ability to analyze schematic and programming solutions
• Experience with AC/DC drives – desired
• Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills in English and in Russian
• Ability to work within team and independently
• Ability to travel across the country and abroad
