Job Description

 

Major e-commerce web sites are complex beasts with lots of components and many layers of business logic. To stay ahead of competition, they have to evolve quickly, while maintaining 100% uptime and highest quality of implementation. Join a small and elite team of Business Analysts to become a knowledge base on a major eCommerce development project.

 

The Business Analyst is a key customer facing position. The Business Analyst is part of the off-shore team, closely working together with the customer on collecting and understanding business requirements; and with

the off-shore engineering team to align requirements with architecture and implementation. In order to create robust and extensive requirements document, the Business Analyst should have in-depth knowledge of

customer business domain and have technological background.

 

The Business Analyst is responsible for communicating created requirements to the engineering team in the form of user stories or usage cases. The Analyst is also responsible for constantly ensuring that the implementation of the system satisfies business requirements. After the implementation, the Business Analyst signs off on the user stories and participates in the final customer sign off.

 

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Business Owners to understand and shape business and/or functional requirements and corresponding technology solution.
• Understand business strategic goals at the project and program level and how system functionality can deliver business value.
• Develop deep understanding of business requirements by working with business subject matter experts, enterprise architects, and application developers.
• Communicate effectively with both business stakeholders and with technical team members.
• Work closely with technical architects to understand technical design constraints and trade-offs.
• Create system technical design documentation based on understanding of business needs and application architecture standards.
• Communicate design recommendations to a varied audience.
• Build strong working relationships and facilitate teamwork with other business analysts, developers, QA, project management and other team members.
• Collaborate with QA team closely as a subject meta expert, consult and support QA team.
• Review, analyze, create and update functional requirements, identify and correct gaps and inconsistencies.

 

Requirements:

• BS in CS or MIS, or Engineering, plus experience analyzing, clarifying and translating business and system requirements into functional specification documents (defining the detailed features and functions that make up the solution).
• Experience with following technologies required: Java/J2EE, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) or Web services.
• High-level understanding of systems design and technical concepts in order to communicate effectively with developers, project managers, colleagues, etc.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Team player who enjoys collaborating with analysts, architects, design and development teams and project managers. 
• Willing to strive for the ideal design process while still working within the framework of the organization, project, and environment. 
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work successfully with a highly diverse team. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Experience with Agile development highly desirable.
• Experience with eCommerce highly desirable.
• Experience working in Java based e-commerce website is highly desirable.
• Strong SQL experience (DB2/Oracle)
