Responsibilities:
  • Supporting Parallels virtualization products, in particular, Parallels Virtuozzo Containers for Linux, Parallels Virtuozzo Server, Parallels Virtual Automation, Parallels Cloud Storage
  • Reproducing customer's issues, searching for workarounds, localizing problems by source code, Interacting with other teams (development, 2nd level support)
  • Fixing bugs - optional
 
Requirements:
  • Higher technical education
  • Profound knowledge of Unix command line
  • Knowledge of script languages (e.g. shell, python, perl)
  • Profound knowledge of C/C++
  • Experience in system programming
  • Experience in Linux kernel programming
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP and Linux network architecture
  • Knowledge of file systems, Linux security model
  • Understanding of processes interaction
  • Knowledge how to use make, patch, rpmbuild
  • Knowledge how to use version control systems (e.g. CVS, SVN, git)
  • Knowledge how to use bug tracking systems (e.g. Bugzilla, Jira)
  • Technical support experience
  • Technical written English
  • System administration experience – optional
  • Knowledge of assembler - optional
  • Low-level system programming for non-Unix OSs – optional
