Role description

You’ll be a part of the Development team for the state-of-the-art Order management system implemented for Cash trading businesses across the globe. Architecture, technologies, development processes are amongst the world best examples. Applications with the level of excellence like OMS set Industry standards for development of Investment banking applications.

Our development team has got strong quality traditions, high degree of application ownership and cooperative relationships across parts of the globally distributed team. Working in the agile environment, you’ll get exposure to OMS technology for Equities trading.

All aspects of OMS system is covered by our 

• Business knowledge
• Server side
• GUI
• Database

Our system is implemented in 4 regions (USA - NY, Europe – London, Asia – Hong-Kong, Japan - Tokyo) and used by 1000 of business users (traders and trading desks). The system user population is comparably small but value of every trader to the Bank and value of system working properly to those traders are immense.

Context

OMS/OMS1/Order Management System is a system specifically designed to automate the exchange trading business that Deutsche Bank does with its clients. The system provides sales-and-trading with reliable, fast and flexible tool for order management, routing, execution system connectivity, clearing/settlement feeds and reporting. Globally deployed with around 1000 users, OMS handles millions of equity and listed derivatives transactions per day whilst providing support for variety of regional specific business processes and numerous extra functions such as FIX connectivity, FX, IOIs.

The successful candidate will be involved in a number of projects largely anticipated by business and IT, such as IOI service development, dBus Classic replacement, platform enhancements, etc.

The application developer’s responsibilities will be implementation of the business and IT requests, maintaining application’s stability and keeping it consistent across the variety of historic and new requirements, reviewing other people’s designs and code changes, providing Service Level 3 support and assistance to the onshore production management teams.

Skills Required:

• Java Core (multi-threading, collections) or C#
• Understanding of OOP and design patterns
• Ability to provide complete solutions in line with the business and functional requirements: technical design, coding, deployment, support level 3.
• Ability to perform reverse engineering, ability to work with other people's source code
• Compliance with the software development quality culture: technical documentation, code reviews, unit testing, configuration change tracking, etc.
• Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
• Technical English – pre-intermediate level

Preferred:

• Knowledge of Java (J2SE), especially Swing, multithreading and collections
• Knowledge of Sybase SQL
• Experience with version control systems (CVS or similar)
• Unix experience, Solaris
• Knowledge of messaging layer architecture
• Knowledge of FIX protocol
• Experience in maintaining and enhancing large scale applications (>100k lines of code in a high level language)
• Experience working with financial software
• Spoken English (Upper Intermediate or better)
