Job Purpose:

You will be responsible for the overall architectural changes made in Hadoop, its supporting applications (HUE, HIVE, etc.), Hadoop file system, consistency, and processing infrastructure. You will be implementing & extending core components of security, availability, scalability, configurability.

Duties: 

•    Maintain and administer the cluster in Linux environment
•    Configure and tune the cluster to provide optimal performance
•    Monitor cluster performance, identify bottlenecks and propose solutions to ensure system availability
•    Troubleshoot storage problems
•    Monitor ETL jobs that move data into the cluster

Required Skills and Experience: 

•    Proven expertise in installation, administration and tuning of Hadoop clusters
•    Solid knowledge of administration of Linux systems
•    Ability to write Perl and / or Python scripts for automation of system administration tasks
•    Experience with compiled languages such as C or C++ is a plus
•    Must be a team player
•    Solid understanding of Linux/UNIX and Network communication concepts
