Job description: Huawei Technologies is seeking qualified candidates to join their growing System Design and Optimization team in Moscow R&D Centre. Team’s focus is on providing state of the art algorithm development and system solutions for various lines of business of Huawei.

Requirements:

• Successful candidate has to demonstrate ability to do scientific/engineering research and/or several years of relevant working experience.
• Preference will be given to candidates with scientific degrees (Ph.D., Dr.Sc., etc.) with publications in relevant areas such as Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, etc.

Candidate should posses skills at least one of the following areas:

• Optimization methods (stochastic, convex, non-convex, combinatorial, etc.)
• Control Theory
• Applications of Game Theory
• Operations Research
• Mathematical modeling of  systems
• (Communication) System design
• Wireless standards and technologies (UMTS, LTE, WiMax, CDMA, etc)
• Communication protocols (TCP, IP, MAC Layer protocols, H-ARQ)
• Data mining
• Cloud computing
• Experience of analytical and/or simulation modeling of network protocols
• Experience with programming languages such as C/С++, Matlab, etc.

Responsibilities:

• A typical assignment would be to design the systems aspects of a complex feature, then work closely with colleagues to verify the feature.
• Systems activities include theoretical analysis, computer aided analysis, regular active participation in design and review sessions, contribution to Huawei's IP portfolio and systems support for implementation related activities.
• Candidates will work in an exciting team environment with some of the brightest systems engineers in the industry and will have frequent interaction with other engineering disciplines.
• Senior candidates may lead a team of multiple systems engineers or a multi-disciplinary project.
