The Sr. Architecture Consultant designs storage and management of data flow, and identifies the hardware and software interfaces, protocols, services, standards, and product technical requirements for a data warehouse solution for a given Client.  The Sr. Architecture Consultant manages the combination of hardware, software, and communications.  The Sr. Architecture Consultant also aids in coordination of the technical design, technical development, purchasing, integration, implementation, and technical training necessary for the project.

Responsibilities include:

• Establish standards for storage, management, and processes for data warehouses.
• Evaluate and recommend technologies, such as DBMSs, servers, extract and conditioning tools, metadata  management, security tools, and archival and recovery tools.
• Design processes to improve the management of data warehouses.
• Design the data storage and management processes for specific projects.
• Assist in gathering requirements regarding data usage.
• Determine and design data security strategy and processes.
• Determine and design data access strategy and processes.
• Determine and design change management strategy and processes.
• Collaborate with system administration and operations on capacity planning strategy and processes.
• Monitor performance and recommend data management changes.
• Participate in change management process for expanding and modifying data warehouse.
• Interface with data management administration, database administration, and application development.
• Coordinate data warehouse implementation and infrastructure management.
• Assist new application development teams in determining data warehouse requirements.

Skill set:

• Understands data management
• Experienced physical data modeler
• Experienced with multiple relational databases
• DBA experience of 5 years or more
• Experienced with project management on data warehouse implementations
• Understands corporate IT architecture
• Mastery of SQL and database utilities
