         Work within a team that is a part of globally distributed software development group. This group is responsible for design, development and integration of data path and platform software components for a family of storage products.
 
This candidate shall have experience in development of commercial-grade software and proven ability to work under minimal direction, providing technical expertise in developing solutions to complex software engineering problems. Shall have strong technical knowledge and skills and be able to provide technical leadership to others. The candidate shall demonstrate flexibility, strong motivation, excellent problem solving skills, and a proven record of meeting aggressive deadlines.
 
Candidate shall be an expert in object oriented design and development, operating system technology, distributed systems development, and contemporary software engineering principles. Experience with storage technology, RAID subsystems and file systems is desired.
 
 
Required Skills:
  • Strong working knowledge of technical English, including ability to freely converse over the phone and exchange written communication
  • Strong C/C++ programming experience, including use of debuggers and other SW development tools
  • Ability to create functional detailed design specs as well as respond to requirement documents and system level test plans.
  • A deep understanding of computing principles such as: synchronization mechanisms, multithreaded programming, inter-process communication, networking, use of databases
  • Understanding of the Development Life Cycle and QA process in a commercial SW development environment
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, ability to understand and articulate both technical and business issues with peers, management, and external teams.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and direct a workgroup
  • Ability to estimate engineering effort and come up with realistic schedules
  • Demonstrated ability to meet milestones and deadlines and deliver commercial software products
  • Strong work ethic 
 
Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge of any of the following protocols and technologies: SCSI, iSCSI, TCP/IP, Fiber Channel, SAS, File Systems, NFS, CIFS, HTTP, XML, RAID.
  • Design and development of storage and/or networking subsystems
  • Familiarity with test frameworks or tools for automated testing
  • Embedded systems development
