Duties and Responsibilities:
 
Work within a six- to ten-person team that is an extension of the Unified Storage Division in Massachusetts, USA. This particular position is for work in the Data Path & Platform group, working mostly with the core of the system, close to Linux OS and proprietary operating systems and functionality, dealing with data services, data integrity, serviceability and other key system features.
 
This engineer must have experience in development of commercial-grade software. The candidate shall demonstrate flexibility, strong motivation, excellent problem solving skills, and a proven record of meeting aggressive deadlines. Responsibilities include all aspects of system software design, development and integration of components for a family of storage products.
 
Candidate should be familiar with object oriented design and development, operating system technology, and contemporary software engineering principles.
 
Required Skills:
  • Strong C/C++ programming experience, including use of debuggers and other SW development tools
  • Working knowledge of technical English, including ability to freely converse over the phone and exchange written communication
  • Good programming experience with Linux 
  • Experience in using object-oriented design principles and tools
  • Good experience in Perl and shell programming is a good plus
 
Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge of any of the following protocols and technologies: iSCSI, TCP/IP, Fibre Channel, File systems, NFS, CIFS, HTTP, XML, RAID and storage systems
  • Design and development of storage and/or networking subsystems
  • Familiarity with test frameworks or tools for automated testing
  • Embedded systems development
