Description:
  • In this position, you will be working with researchers of the Intel Labs Saint-Petersburg identifying key research areas, defining research studies, generating innovative ideas, analyzing their potential, and suggesting possible solutions in the areas of microarchitecture, heterogeneous systems, compilers and tools.
  • You will also be contributing to scientific literature and conferences and participating in development of intellectual property as well as working with other researchers at Intel and outside.


 

Qualifications:

  • You should be a day student pursuing a Master or PhD (preferable) degree in the computer science domain (will also consider physics or mathematics) with specific topic of interest and solid theoretical background in the areas of SoC/embedded systems. You should also possess some practical experience in system/embedded programming and/or RTL design.


Mandatory qualifications:

  •  good C/C++, make, ld scripts, autoconfig (and/or VHDL/Verilog - at least one)
  •  practical experience with any RTOS/embedded system programming or design
  •  good understanding of at least one processor architecture
  •  good English (a must: able to read technical specs/papers in volumes and effectively communicate by mail)
  •  communication skills


Desirable additional qualifications:

  •  scripting (shell, Tcl/Tk, Perl, sed)
  •  assemblers (gas, gcc inline assembler)
  •  gdb source-level and standalone low-level debugging experience (logic analyser/scope, chip-scope/signal-TAP, trace-to-memory logging, LEDs, etc)
  •  profiling/optimization
  • team development experience, version control
  •  code documenting (Doxygen, etc.)


Preference to postgraduate students with matching research topics (part-time employment is possible).
