The successful candidate will participate in the MS Windows based development, enhancement and maintenance for Rosemount Tank Gauging next generation measurement instrumentation - TankMaster. It will require a person that is largely self-directed in implementation of the software product. This position will be a software developer taking work direction from the leaders in RGSC and Sweden.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

 

• Education: 
  • Bachelor/Magister of Science in Computer Engineering/Advanced Engineering degree from a leading university
• Experience
  • 1 - 3 years experience programming in the Windows environment and specifically in Windows GUI development
• Technical Competencies:
  • Windows Operating systems:
    • Windows 2003, 2008 Servers, XP, Windows 7. Both 32 and 64 bit platforms.
    • Good (Fluent) written and spoken English. 
  • Programming languages:
    • C/C++, C#, Visual Basic (nice to have), MS SQL.
  • Software tools:
    • Visual Studio 2005, Visual Studio 6.0 (for VB mainly), MS SQL Server, DOORs (nice to have), HP Quality Center (nice to have)
  • Technologies and libraries:
    • Win32, MFC, COM, OPC, Understanding of Serial communication.
  • Other: MS Office tools.
  •         Understanding of process driven Software Development (ISO 9000 and/or CMMI)

Responsibilities:

• Participate in the development and review requirements
• Participate in review of SW system architecture
• Development of Detailed Design
• Conduct reviews of work products
• Perform configuration management
• Execute unit test and integration test
• Develop estimates for assigned work
• Track actual effort and report progress

Competencies considered a plus:

• Industrial instrumentation and automation experience
• OPC servers
• Industrial communication protocols

Other:

• Willingness to travel periodically with stays of up to1 months (primarily in Sweden)
