Role: QA/Test Software Engineer.

Location: Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation.

Description: Saint Petersburg R&D department of THE NOW FACTORY Ltd. headquarters in Dublin, Ireland is an independent IT company looking for perspective, self-motivated specialist of high performance network applications development to join a team of Test software engineers aimed for implementing high performance applications for telecommunications market.

Responsibilities:

• As the test lead, you will be responsible for the definition, creation, maintenance and execution of test plans, test cases, test scripts and associated data.
• Additionally, you will be responsible for defining test solutions as well as the selecting tools to enable test automation.
• The successful applicant will be expected to drive projects from a QA perspective.
• Liaise with Technical Support and development to schedule and deliver regular product maintenance releases.
• Verify, regression test and release software patches for customers.

General skills:

• 3 years commercial J2EE and Oracle testing experience in a Unix.
• Solaris/Linux
• Ability to work on own initiative, within a traditional QA team structure or a Scrum-oriented team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to identify and target business critical areas of a software application from a testing perspective.
• Strong UNIX script knowledge.
• The successful candidate should have a genuine, demonstrable interest in software quality.
• Intermediate English level.

Desirable skills:

• Experience working with or managing an offshore test team would be an advantage.
• Experience with  Java, XML, HTML, C++.
• Knowledge of databases Oracle/MySQL.
• Experience with  CruiseControl tools.

Skills checking: Depending on Applicant’s CV it can be decided to run him or her through test  QA project for 1-2hs as well as open interview.
