Five9 Inc. is looking for an experienced candidate to fill a vacant position of Sr. Systems Administrator at the Technical Operations Dept.  The essential duties include but not limited to the following:

• Maintain and support  Five9 Production systems
• Configure systems in the Lab (about 20 servers)
• Prepare and execute test plans focused on performance evaluation and reliability assessment
• Work closely with other members of Technical Operations, Engineering and Product Management. 

Required Qualifications

• 3 years of  proven experience in systems administration with the emphasis on Unix-based OS (e.g. Linux, Solaris)
• Experience with  TCP/IP-based  networking (including configuration and troubleshooting)
• Basic DB administration skills
• Solid troubleshooting skills on systems and application levels
• Working knowledge of scripting tools and languages (e.g. bash, Perl, Python, etc.)
• Practical experience with VoIP and SIP
• Familiarity of PSTN and TDM technologies and standards
• Practical experience in monitoring and support of distributed production systems
• Good command of written  English
• B.S. degree in CS or a foreign equivivalent

Desired Qualifications

• Familiarity with fault-tolerant and high-available systems
• Experience in Performance Testing and Capacity Planning
• Familiarity with methods used for Reliability Assessment and Availability Prediction
• Programming experience in any major language (e.g. C/C++, Java, etc.)
• Practical experience with enterprise-grade storage
• Working knowledge of SQL
• Software Testing and/or Development in any major language (e.g. C/C++, Java)
• Familiarity with Networking APIs and Programming (e.g. socket API)
• Practical experience with Virtualization technologies (e.g. VMware ESXi, KVM, Xen, etc.)
• Familiarity with Software Configuration Management Systems
• Familiarity with Source Control and Build Systems
• M.S. degree in CS or a foreign equivalent
