Led by the Chief Corporate Architect, the Corporate Architecture Group (CAG) focuses on technological issues across product group boundaries. Its charter also includes information security, Linux, user interface policy, accessibility, and technical standards coordination. Engaging in standards setting before releasing its first product, open standards are in Oracle's DNA. Today, standards are an important differentiator for Oracle versus key competitors. Open standards and their benefits to customers and partners are also a critical component of our product strategies. Reporting to the Senior Director, Standards Strategy and Architecture (SSA), as part of a group within CAG coordinates Company participation in technical Standards Setting Organizations (SSOs) across all business units and geographies, defines policies pertaining to external standards setting activities, assists business units in engaging in SSOs (including both formal standards bodies and consortia), and represents Oracle interests on standards related matters to US and other governments. Oracle’s significant investment in Java includes the stewardship of the Java Community Process (JCP). As we bring new energy and openness to the JCP, we need to similarly bring its infrastructure up to speed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Transition the JCP website and services (including content management, mail archives, and java web platform) to a professionally hosted and managed Oracle cloud service Integrate the existing JCP business logic with modern collaboration services
• Enhance the functionality of the JCP services to meet new user requirements
• Work with the Senior Director, Standards Strategy and Architecture and the JCP Program Office to develop a project plan to transition, integrate, and improve the JCP website services
• Work with Oracle IT departments to move the JCP website to Oracle’s new cloud services
• Upgrade java application components and technology to meet ongoing requirements Integrate collaboration features into JCP website Manage, develop, and deploy new features to JCP community
• Bring community collaboration features to related SSA internal infrastructure

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2-5 years experience in Java software development
• Experience deploying web services to production environments
• Familiarity with Oracle's infrastructure and tools is a plus
• Experience management managing projects that span multiple organizations
• Ability to work independently and without supervision
• B.S/M.S. in Computer Science with 5 years relevant

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Knowledge of Oracle products, organization and internal IT infrastructure
• Strong java development knowledge
• Some software & system architecture skills
• Understanding & ability to manage web service lifecycles
• Strong project management skills Detail oriented, organized and driven to follow-through and complete tasks
• Ability to interface with internal customers and IT service suppliers in a fast-paced environment
• Fluency in English
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
