Description:

• Saint Petersburg R&D department of THE NOW FACTORY Ltd. headquarters in Dublin, Ireland is an independent IT company looking for perspective, self-motivated specialist of high performance network applications development to join a team of SourceWorks™ software engineers aimed for implementing high performance applications for telecommunications market.

Responsibilities:

• Network protocols analysis;
• Implementation of network protocols parsers;
• Implementation of application modules;
• Creation and review of functional specifications of application modules;
• Review design specifications and code developed by other team members;
• Ability to take a component or application design and progress it through to development, testing, documentation and delivery.
• Performance investigations.

General skills:

• Experience delivering C/C++ applications;
• Strong C/C++ and OO skills;
• Deep understanding of standard OO design patterns;
• Deep understanding of Linux concepts;
• Deep understanding of thread development, network applications development, common search and sorting algorithms;
• Understanding of development processes and project lifecycles;
• Knowledge of Unix shell;
• Familiarity with Eclipse IDE or any other development environments;
• Familiarity with gdb and valgrind tools;
• Intermediate English level.

Desirable skills:

• Experience with JIRA and SVN;
• Experience with network protocols stacks such as HTTP/TCP/IP;
• Experience with wireshark/tshark tools;
• Experience with XML;
• Experience with zlib, pthread, socket, ACE, libxml2 development;
• Experience with awk;
• Experience with python;
• Experience with gprof, gcov and CruiseControl tools.

Personal skills:

• Highly communicable and stress resistant person with an aim for personal growth and consistent learning.  Personal interest in taking part in SourceWorks™ products development and extending development technologies knowledge base. Aim for solutions investigation and taking responsibility for personal decisions.

Additional info:

• It is highly desirable for an applicant to have knowledge in network protocols and applications development however it is not required for the position and will be fixed during acceptance period through consistent training.

• Depending on Applicant’s CV it can be decided to run him or her through test C/C++ project for 1-2hs as well as open interview.
