We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to work in St. Petersburg. The candidate will be responsible for development of audio subsystem for Synopsys ARC processors.

Key responsibilities:

• Take part in creation of audio subsystem as a lead SW developer
• Design and development of various components (multimedia processing modules, peripheral device drivers, etc) in C for MQX RTOS/Linux running on embedded platform
• Integration of multimedia SW components into the subsystem for the purpose of reference design implementation
• Creation of technical documentation and presentations describing SW solutions
• Communication with colleagues across the globe personally, by e-mail or by phone in English

Requirements (MUST):

• B.Sc. in Computer Science as a minimum, or equivalent experience
• Strong C programming experience (GNU C, Microsoft Visual C, cross platform aspects)
• Familiarity with at least one DSP or RISC platform
• Experience with writing/porting software for an RTOS
• Strong multimedia background: practical experience with audio and video compression standards and AV containers; familiarity with at least one multimedia application domain (like DTV, STB, Blu-Ray, Internet streaming, portable media players, etc)
• Understanding of enterprise SW development methodology (VCS, bug-tracking, code analysis and code audit systems)
• Ability and desire to learn

Helpful qualifications:

• Familiarity with a multimedia framework (OpenMAX, GStreamer, Android Stagefright, etc)
• Experience with writing/porting of kernel space code for Linux
• Knowledge of at least one microprocessor/DSP architecture
• Experience with assembly language programming
• Experience with board brings-up
