On behalf of Kuoni Ciklum is looking for a Senior Web JEE Developer

Kuoni Group (established in Switzerland in 1906) the largest destination management service provider in the USA and India and a leading inbound operator in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe and the Middle East, provides a wide range of destination and event management services in the leisure group, sports events, cruise, meetings, incentives, conference, events, congress, and individual travel fields at destinations all over the world.

The goal of the ORION project is to define, develop and implement the future group’s business core system, based on an innovative, future oriented common process model for the combined groups business.

The goal of the project is the implementation of a smart, powerful and technically advanced system, which supports the organizations capability improvement such as leaner and efficient, highly automated processes but also innovation in the area of client- and supplier integration by connecting them to the Groups operating system.  The system should also be able to adapt more flexibly to market changes, and to changes in scale and should be easy to maintain.

Key functionality of system:

• Quoting, Reservation, Execution, Invoicing & Payments, Master data management
• Pricing module, CRM Module, Sales Agent Module, Content Management System
• Client Integration Layer for contracts, quotes, confirmations and updates and invoices, Supplier Integration Layer for contracts, booking and invoices

Proposed Technologies: JEE / Java 6 Application, Oracle Database, JBOSS Application Server, Spring/Hibernate/Log4J, Axis Web Services, etc.

Responsibilities:

• Your tasks will include analysis, development and testing of our web applications in accordance with users' demands and requirements.
•  You will co-operate closely with scrum masters, product owners, business analysts, testers, web designers and other developers in order to ensure the implementation of our new web based solutions.
• As a senior member of our team we expect you to be able to coach and support other team members. 
• Furthermore, as part of a scrum team you will be responsible for technical designs and estimations ensuring future maintainability, extensions and performance.

Knowledge and experience required:

• At least 5 years’ experience with Java, JEE Servlets and Spring MVC Framework
• Strong knowledge in JavaScript, AJAX, HTML, CSS, XML/XSTL
• Knowledge about SQL/PLSQL, Hibernate
• Preferable experience with Javascript frameworks like ExtJS, JQuery, YUI, Dojo, etc.
• Be flexible and pragmatic

You are familiar with concepts like Continuous Integration, TDD and ATDD and technologies such as Cucumber/Selenium.  You are able to communicate fluently in English with open-minded, self-driven and hands-on personality.
